The current course catalogue provides a brief summary of the topics addressed in each course and the anticipated number of continuing education credits that are considered likely to be given for each course.  (Since the states are anything but uniform in their assessment of courses, the number of CE credits available may vary widely from state to state.)  In addition to the non-exclusive courses that may be purchased and which are listed in the course catalogue, courses are often written specifically for a client, and the rights to those courses are generally owned exclusively by the client.

As an example, a client may wish to showcase a particular product by using a course in the catalogue and having an additional chapter created that addresses the specifications and uses of its own product. The resulting course may be used in the client’s training program, as a computer based training course, a scripted classroom course or a book. Regardless of the format in which the course is delivered, the student moves from a general consideration of the product to an examination of the client’s specific product offering.
